Ev. St. Andreas Church Hall

Berlin-Friedrichshain

The church hall was redesigned to provide a sacred atmosphere for church services, but can also be used for congregational work.
The church services of the congregation have been celebrated in the church hall since the demolition of St. Andrew's Church in 1961. The existing spatial elements (chairs, wall panels) were integrated.
Flexible curtains in two room-circulating rails allow for a spatial separation in favour of different uses. Depending on requirements, the desired room situations are created. The lighting concept also helps here. The colour mood of changing light colours is further enhanced by reflection in the curtains. The light installation takes up the liturgical colours of the church year.
