TIUS system shelf

In the mobile society, conventional furniture concepts are only of limited use. The TIUS system shelving offers flexible solutions for different usage requirements.

Concept

Frequent changes of residence, the combination of office and private use and the integration of new information technologies require variable furniture systems that can be adapted again and again.

The TIUS system racking developed by D:4 can be used flexibly due to its small-sized construction, quick assembly without tools, sufficient stability and durability for frequent assembly and disassembly and easy transport.

Construction and design

The TIUS system shelving is astonishingly simple in its construction principle: the shelving kit can be assembled with a simple plug-in connection using metal pins, which together with the innovative profiling in the form of corrugated interlocking of the base plates ensures statically stable cohesion. The advantage of this concept is the simple assembly without the use of tools.

The minimum component of the shelving system here are base and side panels which can be interlocked with each other as required, so that the shelf can be assembled and used individually. The base plates have undulating connecting profiles on one or both sides, the holes of which can be connected with the corresponding fixtures on the side plates. The necessary stiffening, apart from the simple wave-shaped connection, is only achieved by using metal pins.

The length of the base plates and the height of the side plates determine the size of a shelf compartment, so that the total size of the shelf results from the addition of the individual compartments. The length, height and gradations of the shelving unit can thus be adapted to changing room situations at any time.

The bottom and side plates are freely definable in their size and are not bound to a specific material.

The result is a shelving system with an optimal combination of form and function.
