For Wilhelm Fricke GmbH für Landtechnik, D:4 built the Gartencenter Gartenland in Zeven-Aspe in 2014.

For the implementation, a 4,000 m² single-storey existing building was largely gutted inside and converted into a large exhibition and sales room with offices and a workshop centre for garden and municipal technology.

The former office building (built in 1990) was converted into a motorhome center in 2002. The basic structure with workshop, exhibition and administration wing was retained for the newly created garden area. In addition, the south-eastern area was combined as a large exhibition area for municipal and garden technology products.

Open room structures and striking façade elements

Offices, the main entrance and a consulting and sales center are arranged along the façade. The offices were built into the existing structure as open fixtures. This area was climatically and acoustically separated from the large exhibition area.

The rather closed existing façade was broken up in three places and reframed with striking extensions for entrances and a large shop window area. These interventions are clearly visible thanks to a different façade material. The shop window front and a glass dome create a bright showroom and sales area. An all-round new façade panel visually unites the existing and new parts of the building.
