In 2018, D:4 redesigned the restaurant in the Dietrich Bonhoeffer conference hotel for HOSPES Evangelisch-Tagen GmbH. After a 16-week renovation phase, the 240 m² area was reopened.

Goal and concept
The aim of the conversion was to enable flexible catering for larger groups, to create a service-friendly buffet and at the same time to offer retreat areas for individual guests. The previously complex room structure was broken up with functional furniture. A 26-metre-long bench with wireless internet access and integrated power supply invites guests to work.
Interior design and materials
In order to make the room brighter and more inviting, larger window openings have been created and closed areas have been opened up so that the dining room is now flooded with natural light. The floor is made of strikingly patterned linoleum, laid in intricately crafted inlays.
Sustainability and choice of materials
The material concept is based on ecological and sustainable principles. Plastic was avoided as far as possible. Instead, natural materials such as solid wood, linoleum and Corian were used. Traditional craftsmanship and environmentally friendly building materials were at the heart of the planning.
Facade renovation
The façade was also renovated as part of the work: Cracks and structural defects were repaired and the old parapets and window grilles were replaced with high-quality stainless steel applications.
